Description

Model uncertainty is calculated for all bearing data and water flow data used in calibration and validation of DK model HIP. • For bearing data, calculated mean errors (ME) extracted from DK @-@model HIP (for both 100 m and 500 m model) and time series with simulated and observed pressure level extracted from DK @-@model HIP (100 m) are available. • For water flow data, calculated model uncertainties are available for both dynamics (KGE), water balance (WBE) and characteristic high flow rate (Q01) based on simulated and observed flow. Both ME and time series have been extracted for the calibration period 2000-2010, as well as the validation periods 1990-1999 and 2011-2019. The resulting mean errors (ME) values and statistical measures are useful for assessing which areas the model has the largest deviations from observation data. This difference may be partly due to uncertainties in the model, but may also be due to the fact that the bearing and flow observations are not representative in relation to modelled depth for ground water and water flow. Specification for bearing data: For example, some bearing intake may be in, below or just above a clay layer, where there may be pressure level difference between observed bearings and model, e.g. in outflows (areas with leakage towards e.g. streams) and inflow areas (areas of leakage). As a result of such conditions, time series for depth to off-road groundwater calculated with the model (phreatic depth) provided as a time series for that grid may differ from time series of extractions from layer-statistics interpolating from four nearest grids. For example, in areas with clay layers, bearings from the top 10 m may represent deeper aquifers, instead of representing the upper water table. In other cases, the model can simulate a “temporary” hanging water table that occurs during the winter period, but which may not be described by bearing wells filtered in layers that are in contact with deeper aquifers. Specification for water flow data: The data set contains the estimated accuracy levels (during screening, screening, estimation, detail) for each statistical measure, for all stations during the calibration period and the two validation periods respectively.
