Description
The Ministry of Environment and Food has designated 21 places of refuge for ships in need of assistance in Danish waters. The emergency areas are areas that ships in need of assistance can use in situations of risk of pollution or for reasons of safety of navigation. The designated areas are set out in Order No 1852 of 16 December 2015 on places of refuge and plans for them.
16 plans have been drawn up for the 21 places of refuge, with some plans covering several areas due to their proximity and the fact that the connected places of refuge are managed by the same emergency authorities. The emergency area plans can be found on svana’s website.
