Regionally valuable built cultural environments in Pirkanmaa in 2016
Description
The material contains the inventory data of the survey on built cultural environments of great value in Pirkanmaa. The report is a separate report on the Pirkanmaa regional plan 2040. The study was used in the preparation of the regional plan 2040 for the demonstration of built cultural environments that are of provincial value.
The built cultural environment, i.e. building heritage, includes extensively everything that is related to the history and customs of land use and construction. As a built cultural environment, we look at areas of value: from large urban complexes to individual buildings, structures, yards, parks and streets. The study covered the objects of the building heritage from the 16th to the 1960s, and in some cases also younger sites. The landscape values of urban areas were also taken into account. 97 built cultural environments of regional interest were identified, of which approximately one third of them are new sites. Most of the sites are large areas that consist of different sub-areas with their characteristics.
The report provides a basis for more detailed explanations on the characteristics and values to be defined in more detail for each site. In municipal planning, it should be known how valuable the planning takes place at any time.
The report also identified core areas within county value areas. These are presented in the target cards of the report and there is also a separate spatial data set.
Built cultural environments of national significance (RKY 2009) have been examined in the National Inventory and a Government decision on them has been issued on 22 December 2009.
