Description
A formal stratigraphy of a bore or a sounding is a lithostratigraphic interpretation of a (coded) lithological description based on a defined standard per depth interval. DOV uses the usual standards within Flanders. You will find an overview of the standards used on our website. The formal stratigraphy is used to identify the thickness of the Quartair, and to distinguish and identify the underlying packages of Neogene, Paleogene and/or older layers.
