Heat - Vulnerable families in the warmest neighbourhoods (2020)
Description
This map shows the percentage of vulnerable families living in the warmest neighbourhoods of the province of Zuid-Holland. These hottest neighbourhoods are based on the 2020 Climate Impact Atlas, which shows the neighbourhoods that are at least two degrees warmer due to the urban heat island effect. This map shows the percentage of vulnerable families living in these warmest neighbourhoods. These are families with children who are low educated, low-income or unemployed. When efforts are made to take climate adaptive measures in these neighborhoods, it is to be expected that many residents do not have a budget to work on this themselves. This map can help prioritize neighborhoods where additional commitment is needed.
The neighborhoods in the province of South Holland where the temperature rises less than two degrees, and neighborhoods where less than 1% vulnerable families live are not shown on this map.
