JHS 189 License to use open datasets
Description
The purpose of a government open data licence (‘open dataset licence’) is to provide legal certainty that the data subject to the licence is freely used in all possible ways, provided that the source of the data is mentioned in the licence. It is recommended that re-use rights to Finnish public administration’s open datasets be granted with an open license, which is part of the Creative Commons license family. The recommended license is Creative Commons Attribution 4.0.
The purpose of this Recommendation is to make the content of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 subject to the Recommendation more comprehensible in the context of the practical application of public administration. The recommendation should be read in conjunction with the text of the actual license, which is much more detailed.
