Description
Every year, the Office for Urban Development models the structural capacities of all building zones in floor areas on the basis of planning law options and further framework conditions. As part of the modelling, the stock is also estimated in floor space and a structural reserve is calculated by subtracting from the capacity. Assumptions are made specifically for the calculation of population scenarios in order to model the most realistic use of reserves. Note: The model for calculating floor areas for capacity, stock, reserve and uptake is based on assumptions and estimates. The figures should be interpreted with caution in terms of accuracy. The capacity and reserve calculation model (KaReB) has been further developed over the years.

The values quantify floor areas in square meters. They only include the residential uses, other uses (non-residential) are not taken into account.
