Following several green algae failed events in 2018 on the coast of Gouaro — Deva, Ifremer, IRD and BRGM joined forces to set up, on behalf of the southern province, a monitoring programme with the following objectives:
— to quantify and discriminate the routes of enrichment of the Poe lagoon that could lead to the proliferation of primary producers in this sector.
— to propose decision support tools to anticipate or control the recurrence of the phenomenon.
This data shows the direction (as a percentage of occurence) and the intensity (in m.s-1) of the current measured with marrots in the Poé lagoon.
