Regional Water and Soil Programme 2022-2027, drinking water intake point
Description
In two situations, in the province of Noord-Brabant there is a surface water abstraction for the public water supply. It concerns the Damde Maas from which Dunea takes water and the Amer from which Evides takes water. Here it is necessary to prevent deterioration in the quality of surface water from which the abstraction takes place for human consumption. If a calamity occurs close to the intake point, it is not always possible to close in time. Therefore, protection zones are established in the Meuse Stroomarea Management Plan, in which additional protection is required. The zones for both intake points in North Brabant can be found in the Environment Ordinance of the Province of Noord-Brabant.
