REDIAM. WMS Protected areas in the D.H. Guadalete-Barbate: Water catchment areas for supply (PH 2009-2015)
Description
WMS service corresponding to water collection areas for supply. Those areas are designated in accordance with Article 7 of the WFD under which all bodies of water used for the abstraction of water intended for human consumption providing on average more than 10 m3 per day or supplying more than 50 persons must be specified. In the demarcation there are 6 abstractions in surface water bodies for supply, 47 abstractions in springs, 59 in wells / soundings and 130 deposits. In transitional water bodies there are no abstractions for supply, no desalination plants for the production of water suitable for human consumption, nor is their construction planned in the near future. In the case of groundwater abstractions for supply, safeguard zones, protection perimeters of Sites of Hydrogeological Interest and protection perimeters of abstractions located outside the groundwater body have been defined.
