GE.Berggrund 1:50 000 - 1:250 000
Description
GE.Berggrund 1:50 000 - 1:250 000 is a simplified and transformed version of SGU's bedrock information in scale 1:50 000 - 1:250 000 and complies with the INSPIRE data specification for the Geology by Coding theme according to GeoSciML 3.2.
The data is represented in a two-dimensional model of the top surface of the bedrock, which describes the geometry of identified geological units, the material that builds the units and the geological events they have undergone. The model also includes structures such as faults and folds in the top surface of the bedrock. The model is based on geological field observations in combination with interpretation of analytical results and geophysical data.
The mapping has taken place from the early 1960s with different methods, different observation density and for different presentation scales. This means that there are major differences in quality within the product, both in terms of positional accuracy and information content. The differences in the mapping method used in the mapping are reported by marking the information with the intended presentation scale.
