Orthophotos 1953 (1 m ground resolution)
Description
The mosaic of rectified individual images is based on a flight from the spring of 1953. The processed 30 sw images of the Dresden city area are part of a far more extensive aerial series on a scale of 1:22 000, which was arranged, among other things, for the purpose of the inventory by the Soviet occupying power. For Dresden, the full extent of the destruction from the air becomes visible here, especially through the fallow land after the debris removal in a different, entered way.
The pixel width of the mosaic is already fully exhausted with 1 m due to the image scale and the graininess of the film material used and allows a maximum viewing scale of 1:4000. Considering the history of the footage, this is an acceptable size. The positional accuracy of the ortho images and the resulting mosaic, which were already created in 2000, is 1 m and thus in the order of one pixel.
