Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders - Additional potential energy production from large-scale wind - REV2030 scenario
Description
This map layer is part of the Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders. ‘In the ‘Space for Energy Flanders 2030’ scenario (REV2030), the additional production potential for large-scale wind that can be realised within the available space is limited on the basis of a potential figure that is set for 2030, taking into account the current context and policy objectives. For large-scale wind, a 2.3 MW wind turbine is assumed. In doing so, we align the choice of positive and negative spatial connecting factors with the current policy context, so that there are many additional spatial preconditions compared to the technical scenario. For an overview, please refer to the report. Within the available space, a maximum of wind turbines is then placed, taking into account a minimum distance that can be respected between the wind turbines. Given the current context and policy objectives, the production potential is limited to 38% on the basis of available space. The results are presented at the level of the statistical sectors. The figures per municipality can also be consulted in the attached table."
