Management units

Description

The farmers of the canton of Freiburg declare their agricultural land as farming units. A management unit generally comprises the contiguous land used by the same operator. Since the land managed by a farm is often scattered, it is usually associated with several management units. The farmed land must be reported annually to the Office of Agriculture, including direct payments. For this reason, this data always refers to a specific year. Within this level, the management units belonging to one summer farm are distinguished from the other management units.
