Regional Land Use Plan (RFNP) City of Bochum - historical
Description
The cities of Bochum, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Herne, Mülheim an der Ruhr and Oberhausen founded a planning community in 2005 and started work on the preparation of a joint regional land use plan (RFNP). The plan procedure, which was formally initiated in 2007, was concluded in 2009 with the decision of the plan and its approval by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, SMEs and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. On 03.05.2010, the first RFNP came into force in Germany.
The special feature of the RFNP planning instrument is that the plan simultaneously assumes the role of a regional plan and a shared land use plan.
