Description
The book “Geology in the Rheinische Schiefergebirge — Part 3 Sauer- und Siegerland” is the 3 rd part of the territory monographs on the Rheinische Schiefergebirge. The main focus of the monograph is on the description of the rocks and their history of origin, in particular the climate and deposition conditions prevailing at the time of their formation, as well as the changes to which the rocks have been subjected during the course of the Earth’s history. Other aspects, such as the use of the natural space by man, are discussed in separate chapters. It should be clarified how the geological subsurface also influenced the economic development of this region. The formation, distribution and use of natural resources, such as raw materials, ground and surface waters, as well as soils are presented.
