Flooding areas on the Estonian coast
Description
The map layers of flood areas represent the ranges of coastal areas in Estonia that are underwater once in 10, 50, 100 and 1000 years under the probability scenarios for the maximum sea level (corresponding to 10 %, 2 %, 1 %, 0.1 %).
Calculations were carried out for the Environmental Agency’s coastal sea stations and the areas between several stations, where up to now extreme flood probability had not yet been assessed. Based on the calculations, a map layer was compiled for each probability scenario that visualises the extent of the flooded area.
