FZG) of the Saxon River Basin Surface Water Bodies (OWK)

Description

The FZG verifies the reference fish censuses in Saxony and summarises them into a manageable number of units. Each of these units is defined by characteristic fish faunistic corner features, which apply to larger contiguous water areas. The basic fish-cenotic characteristics constitute an important working basis for the preparation of management plans in accordance with the WFD. In combination with the results of the fish monitoring and other data bases, it enables targeted creation and prioritization of action programs to improve the ecological status of the OWK in Saxony.
