INSPIRE-WMS Soil / Carbon stocks in soil BB
Description
The interoperable INSPIRE WMS is a display service that displays data in the annex schema ground (derived from the original dataset: carbon stocks in the soil of Brandenburg). It gives an overview of the carbon reserves up to 0.3 m, 1 m and 2 m depth under the terrain surface in the state of Brandenburg. The map is based on the legend units of the soil overview map (BÜK300) with corresponding assignment of parameterized surface soil shapes, which were determined by terrain and laboratory tests. For the same horizon-substrate combinations, the corresponding parameters (such as corg contents) were statistically derived (usually the median value). The sequence of horizon-substrate combinations of the surface soil forms with their corg contents forms the basis for the quantity calculation in t/ha. These were classified in steps of 30 t/ha each. According to the INSPIRE data specification Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0), the contents of the soil overview map are INSPIRE-compliant. The WMS contains the following layers:
- SO.organicCarbonStock (30 cm): Carbon stocks describe the amount of organic corg in t/ha stored in the soil at a depth of 30 cm.
- SO.organicCarbonStock (100 cm): Carbon stocks describe the amount of organic corg in t/ha stored in the soil at a depth of 100 cm.
- SO.organicCarbonStock (200 cm): Carbon stocks describe the amount of organic corg in t/ha stored in the soil at a depth of 200 cm.
- SO.SoilBody: Delimited and homogeneous part of the floor covering with respect to certain soil characteristics and/or spatial patterns.

The compliant INSPIRE-WMS Soil is a view service that delivers data in the annex schema Soil (derived from the original data set: Carbon stocks in the soil Brandenburg). It provides an overview of the carbon stocks up to 0.3 m, 1 m and 2 m depth below ground level in the state of Brandenburg. The map is based on the legend units of the soil map (BÜK300) with corresponding assignment of parameterized soil forms determined by field and laboratory investigations. For the same horizon-substrate combinations, the corresponding parameters (such as Corg contents) were statistically derived (usually the median value). The sequence of horizon-substrate combinations of the soil forms with their corg contents formed the basis for the quantity calculation in t/ha. These were classified in steps of 30 t/ha each. The content of the soil map is compliant to the INSPIRE data specification for the annex theme Soil (D2.8.III.3_v3.0). The WMS includes the following layers:
- SO.organicCarbonStock (30 cm): Carbon stock indicates the amount of organic carbon stored in soil up to a depth of 2 m in t/ha (in this case 30 cm).
- SO.organicCarbonStock (100 cm): Carbon stock indicates the amount of organic carbon stored in soil up to a depth of 2 m in t/ha (in this case 100 cm).
- SO.organicCarbonStock (200 cm): Carbon stock indicates the amount of organic carbon stored in soil up to a depth of 2 m in t/ha (in this case 200 cm).
- SO.SoilBody: Part of the soil cover that is delineated and that is homogeneous with regard to certain soil properties and/or spatial patterns.
