Castles

Description

The dataset “castles” contains the land-covering karting of intact castles, castle ruins and buildings with original wallwork of castles, as well as ringwalburgs. It is still visible above ground remains. Where only a moat in the grounds is recognizable, is apart from recording. The dataset was selected by T. Hermans (RCE specialist castles) on the basis of the castleslexikon of the Dutch Castles Foundation – Knowledge Centre for Castle and Buitenplaats (hereinafter NKS). Each object in this dataset is provided with a link to the relevant information page of the website https://www.cchin.nl of the NKS by means of the CCHIN (Castle and Country Houses Index of the Netherlands).
