International river basin units under the Water Framework Directive

Description

The international river basin district (RBD) of the rivers that flow through Germany is shown. The river basin district of the Danube is not fully represented. As defined in the Water Framework Directive (WFD), river basin district is the land and sea area consisting of one or more adjacent river basins and their associated groundwater and coastal waters and is defined as the main river management unit in accordance with Article 3(1).
