Description
Node of the Andalusian Environmental Information Network. Regional Government of Andalusia. Seasonal average of NDVI calculated from NOAA satellite images captured by the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) sensor. The AVHRR sensor collects information in 5 spectral bands: visible, near-infrared and 3 in thermal infrared, all with a resolution of 1000 m. The NDVI reflects the characteristics and vital state of the vegetation. This parameter allows to obtain information about chlorophyll and water content in the leaves, net flow of carbon dioxide, net productivity, leaf area index, potential evapotranspiration, etc. Applied to the image highlights the areas of greater vegetation and those of bare soil.
