Biogeographical regions - WFS - INSPIRE harmonized
Description
The biogeographical region of the Republic of Croatia is an extract from the European map of biogeographical regions, used for the establishment of the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the Emerald Network (Emerald Network). The European map of biogeographical regions includes the countries of the European Union and the countries within the Emerald Network (countries that are signatories to the Berne Convention), and the layer can be downloaded from the website of the European Environment Agency: https://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/biogeographical-regions-europe-3.
The extract of the map for the territory of the Republic of Croatia includes three biogeographical regions, which are alpine, Mediterranean and continental.
