Description
The basis of the biological assessment under the WFD includes the establishment of a water typology and the designation of water types. These are basic principles for the type-specific biological assessment, the designation of the water bodies and the establishment of a monitoring network. However, the preparation of the management plans and thus the planning of measures is also type-specific.
In the "North German Lowland" ecoregion, a total of seven lake types are distinguished, including six natural types and one special type for artificial lakes.
