Description
The dataset contains data on agricultural and livestock holdings (Number of holdings, Total agricultural area in hectares -SAT-, Utilised agricultural area in hectares -SAU-) by legal form and form of management. The source of the data is the 6th General Census of Agriculture - 2010. Agricultural and zootechnical holding means the technical-economic unit, consisting of land, even in non-contiguous plots, and possibly various plants and equipment, in which agricultural and zootechnical activity is carried out, principally or secondary, by a holder - natural person, company, body - who bears the risk both alone, as a farmer or holder with employees and / or partners, and in an associated form. for further information on the definitions and classifications used in the General Census of Agriculture see: www.istat.it
