Enterprises: Number of enterprises by structural characteristics
Description
The dataset contains the companies surveyed in the 9th Census of Industry and Services. The detection units are: sole proprietorships, partnerships and capital companies, cooperative societies (excluding social cooperatives, which are the subject of the survey on non-profit institutions), private-law consortia, public economic bodies, special companies and public service companies. For the purposes of the census, self-employed persons and self-employed persons are also considered to be undertakings. Companies are classified by Ateco 2007 (5 digits), legal form, group membership, company size, artisan character and presence of employees.
NOTE: the size of the enterprise is defined on the basis of the class of employees: micro (less than 10 employees), small (from 10 to 49), medium (from 50 to 259), large (250 employees and more). For further information on the census see http://data-censusindustriaeservizi.istat.it.
This dataset has been issued by the Municipality of Milan.
