Enterprises: number of local units by sector of activity and number of employees
Description
The dataset contains the data relating to the local units (UL) present in the territory of the Municipality of Milan.
The local unit is the physical place where the enterprise carries out its activity, therefore it can coincide with the enterprise or with a part of it. (Some examples: agency, bar, storage, shop, laboratory, warehouse, professional office, office, clinic, hotel...). The ULs present in the dataset are classified by Ateco 2007 UL code (2 and 5 digits). For each item of the Ateco classification, the number of ULs, the number of employees and self-employed persons and the total number of employees (sum of the two previous items) are given.
NOTE 1: Employment figures are calculated as work units. In this regard, it is recalled that full-time work units (FWU) can refer to the work performed during the year by a full-time employee, or to the amount of equivalent work performed by part-time workers or by workers performing double work. (e.g. two part-time workers at 50% result as 1 work unit). The work unit is therefore not linked to the individual natural person, but conventionally refers to a standard amount of full-time work defined by national contracts. This explains the presence of values with decimal places.
NOTE 2: The data is updated to the latest available year. Pending the final ISTAT data for the year 2012.
