Description
The dataset contains data on the influx of visitors in Milan's museums and in the various exhibition venues and cultural institutes from 1996 to 2010.
1997: Civic Collections of Applied Art and Engravings - estimated data; Museum of Milan - closed for reorganization.
1998: Civic Collections of Applied Art and Engravings, Manzoni Museum - estimated data.
1999 and 2000: Civic Museum of Contemporary Art/CIMAC - Royal Palace: Closed for restoration.
2001: the data of the Arengario include those of the Royal Palace; Museum of Messina: estimated figure.
2002 and 2003: Museum of Contemporary History, Museum of Milan: Closed for restoration.
Since 2004, the statistical calculations have changed in the collection database, so comparison with previous years is not always possible.
2006 : Castello Sforzesco - the figure includes visitors to the museums of Ancient Art, the Pinacoteca, the Rocchetta Museum.
2007-2010: Castello Sforzesco - the figure includes visitors to permanent exhibitions (Ancient Art, Furniture, Art Gallery, Prehistoric, Egyptian, Rocchetta Museum) and temporary exhibitions (Viscontee Rooms, Treasure Room, Castellana, Panoramiche, Bertarelli Study Room and Axis Room).
2006-2010: Archaeological Museum - the data of the Archaeological Museum also includes visitors to the Crypt of San Giovanni in Conca and Antiquarium.
2010: Museo del Novecento inaugurated on 6/12/2010; Cinema Museum: estimated figure.
