Survey of school attendance in Louvain-la-Neuve
Description
As part of the plan to build new housing estates in Louvain-la-Neuve, the question arose of determining the school needs (primary and nursery schools) that would have to be met as a result of the arrival of new households with children in Louvain-la-Neuve.
Following initial analyses, it turned out that only 37% of the children attending the 5 establishments in the city resided in the municipality. Therefore, a question arose as to what might encourage parents residing outside Louvain-la-Neuve to send their children to school on the site. One hypothesis seemed to prevail, as these parents worked in Louvain-la-Neuve. This assumption, if true, would require the inclusion of another parameter in the equation, the development of economic activity at the Louvain-la-Neuve site and the number of related jobs.
To answer this question, a survey was conducted among parents whose children attend schools in Louvain-la-Neuve.
