Discovery Data Capture Submittal for Jackson County, OR
Description
Discovery, as defined in FEMA's Guidelines and Standards for Flood Risk Analysis and Mapping, involves data collection, stakeholder engagement, a Discovery Meeting, and post-meeting activities. Data gathered during Discovery include information that influences flood risk decision-making, historical flooding information, existing flood hazard data and information, and mitigation activities. It may also include other datasets used in Discovery, including Coordinated Needs Management Strategy (CNMS) data, Average Annualized Loss (AAL), gages, high water marks, community concerns, flood control structures, existing flood hazards, etc. A Discovery Meeting is held after an analysis of the collected information is completed. This analysis is summarized in the Discovery Report and may be shown on the Discovery Map. The Discovery dataset may include an inventory of the data collected during Discovery, spatial and tabular data, the Discovery Report and Map, and a project charter.
