The breeding bird fauna of the Kölblalm
Description
As part of the basic surveys in the National Park, the breeding bird fauna was recorded on all alpine pastures between 2004 and 2006.
The species spectrum, the number of endangered species and their distribution are among the important parameters for assessing the nature conservation importance of the alpine pastures. In addition to the existing habitat types and different structures, the farming intensity plays a very important role on the alpine pastures.
The results of the mapping should help to preserve important and valuable habitats and their structures, or to optimise management patterns and grazing intensity, where necessary, in order to maintain or improve habitat quality for selected species.
