In the district of Nienburg/Weser, sand and gravel mining is operated or planned with groundwater release. The highest density of mining sites is in the following areas of the county:
— west of the Weser south of Stolzenau in the Raddestorf area on the B 215, velvet community of Uchte, until Diethe-Langern, municipality of Stolzenau,
— north of Stolzenau west of the Weser between Stolzenau “Große Brinkstraße” and the community road Landesbergen-Anemolter,
— east of the Weser between the border with North Rhine-Westphalia in the south and the “Little Maschsee”, landmark Landesbergen, in the north,
— Further north, soil extraction was started in the Estorf area. In addition, a company in the Schweringen area east of the Weser mines large-area sand and gravel.
