Results of PCB and mercury measurements in fish and sediments
Description
The Interministerial Plan (Ministries of Ecology, Health and Agriculture) on PCBs was officially launched on 6 February 2008.
Onema is in charge of the implementation of the national plan for sampling sediments and fish in aquatic environments, in conjunction with ANSES and the ministries, and finances sampling operations (cost €1 million/year), - around 100 sites each year (2008, 2009 and 2010).
The objective is to obtain an instantaneous mapping of fish contamination and thus to target priority areas for health investigations if necessary.
The files provide complete results of analyses on fish and sediments. These results are made available online as ANSES interprets and makes health recommendations. .
For each batch of fish analysed, the geographical information of the sampling station, department and site shall be specified as well as the species of fish, the different parameters measured and their values.
