Protected area Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park

Description

The protected area boundaries of the national park are provided as vector coordinates according to the coordinate system EPSG::25832. The Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park with its 13,750 hectares is the smallest of the three Wadden Sea National Parks. It was designated in 1990 to ensure free rein for the special natural beauties and natural processes under the motto "Let nature be nature". With the recognition as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1992, the nature-friendly orientation of the uses taking place on parts of the island of Neuwerk became more and more important. On 27 June 2011 in Paris, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee decided to include the Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park as part of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site in the list of World Heritage Sites of Humanity.
