Detailed report on the near-time forecast of Austrian greenhouse gas emissions from transport 2022.
Description
The short-term forecast of greenhouse gas emissions from the transport sector 2023 shows preliminary emissions for 2022 amounting to around 20.6 million tonnes. Compared to 2021, this represents a decrease of 4.5 % and 1.0 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent, respectively. This decline is primarily due to a decrease in fuel exports due to the high fuel prices in 2022. At the same time, domestic activity increases in 2021 can be observed. In line with the requirements of the 2030 Mobility Master Plan for Austria, additional mobility-relevant indicators were evaluated for the near-term forecast. Primary indicators, i.e. input data for modelling, and secondary indicators, i.e. model results, were used. Methods, models and indicators are comprehensively described in the report.
