Landfill gas detection 2018-2022 at Austrian mass waste dumps.
Description
The present study looked at the collection and treatment of landfill gas in 48 mass waste dumps over the 2018-2022 investigation period. Subsequently, the time series previously conducted from 1990 to 2017 was extended to 2022. In addition to the amounts of landfill gas collected and treated, information was also collected on the measures taken by the landfill operators to increase landfill gas collection, as well as the extent of temporary surface covers, irrigation measures and precautions to reduce residual emissions. In the context of the conclusion, a summary of the main results and a brief outlook on the future development of the recorded landfill gas volumes and the measures to be taken by the operators in the handling of the remaining landfill gas are provided.
