Demographics in the California Legislature

Description

The dataset contains racial/ethnic data for California's legislators since the end of the 2015-2016 legislative session through those elected for the current session and data on sex since 1919. A member who served the entire term will have an entry for both start and end. This indicates changes due to special elections. House = California State Senate or California State Assembly District = Number reflects the district number. It compares the incoming members with prior sessions.
