Action plan for insect diversity.
Description
Four out of five animal species in Austria are insects. They have great ecological significance and economic relevance. In recent decades, the decline of insect populations has increasingly come into the focus of research and the public. This decline is caused by a number of factors and there is sufficient evidence to address this trend. The present Action Plan on Insect Diversity offers numerous proposals for measures in several fields of action. The Action Plan is intended to serve as a general reference for the further development and implementation of concrete projects and projects. Many actors are affected and all of them can contribute significantly to the protection of insects in their respective sphere of activity.
