Peatland Protection Programme Part I of 1981
Description
In Part I of the Moor Conservation Programme, a total of 88 raised bogs of the lowlands were recorded in 1981, which are significant as peat deposits and have a high importance for nature conservation. Industrial peat extraction is mainly carried out in these peat bogs. Information is available on the areas that are valuable for nature conservation from a national point of view, differentiated according to the categories "most valuable area – no torch", "torch possible taking into account the objectives of nature conservation" and "to strive for ongoing or completed torch regeneration".
