11th PROGRAMME: ZONAGE POTABLE WATER ISSUES
Description
Different zonings have been defined to guide the implementation of the Agency’s intervention policies in the period 2019-2024.
Depending on the case, they correspond to:
eligibility criteria, i.e. projects must be located in the defined area in order to be eligible for Agency aid or an increase in the rate of Agency aid;
priority criteria, i.e. depending on the area in which the projects are located, they have priority or not to be awarded Agency support, in case the cumulative amounts of the different applications exceed the available budgetary envelope.
Drinking water issue:
In order to identify the drinking water resources whose preservation or restoration involves the most at stake at the level of the Artois-Picardie Basin, zoning has been defined on the basis of the following elements:
the catchments delivering the largest annual volumes to supply the population;
abstractions designated under different national policies as a result of ongoing or proven degradation of drinking water quality.
These criteria correspond to 1 048 municipalities at the level of the Artois-Picardie Basin.
These criteria are used to:
grant aid from the Agency for works relating to non-collective sanitation, connection to public collection networks, combating diffuse pollution and organic farming (eligibility criteria);
prioritise projects requesting assistance from the Agency for Water Quality Recovery Operations (ORQUE), voluntary and multi-partner approaches to reduce polluting pressures in catchment feeding areas.
