Dormant assets

Description

Dormant assets may include accounts, insurance contracts and safes. They fall under the application of the law of 24 July 2008 laying down various provisions, including a chapter on dormant assets. For the accounts are concerned demand accounts, deposit accounts as well as savings accounts. The insurance contracts referred to are essentially life insurance for the benefit of a natural person. Until 2021, banks could introduce dormant assets via the Pandora app. You can find the numbers of files and refunds in Pandora. Before 2013, there was a technical bug when entering files. These files all had to be reintroduced afterwards. There are therefore no figures concerning the introduction of files before 2013, but there are the number of refunds. From 2020, the files could be introduced in the new e-DEPO application. From now on, no distinction will be made between dormant accounts and insurance contracts. In 2021, Pandora was permanently arrested.
