Description
Every six years, the European Union and its Member States shall draw up a report on the state of habitat types and species of Community interest in accordance with Article 17 of the Habitats Directive. The Federal Environment Agency has prepared the Austrian reports in accordance with Article 17 of 2007, 2013 and currently 2019 on behalf of the federal states. This report presents the data basis, methodology and results of the report for the period 2013-2018. Almost one-fifth of habitat types and one-seventh of species are in favourable conservation status. Compared to the three reporting periods, the state of 70% of species and 80% of habitat types remained unchanged between 2000 and 2018. In 3% of habitat types and 10% of species, the conservation status improved.
