Simple intervisibility. Andalusia Visibility System
Description
The Visibility System of Andalusia contains the necessary data and procedures to model the effective or potential visual relationships existing between the different locations of the territory, up to a distance called ‘maximum visibility’ established at 15 km; the result is a collection of visual parameters defined for more than 11 million observation points distributed homogeneously throughout the Andalusian territory.
As a first exploitation on this huge set of data, maps have been calculated that represent, for each point of the territory, for how many hectares an intervention would be visible, depending on their height.
This magnitude has been called simple intervisibility (IVS) since it can also be interpreted as how many hectares of territory are visible at different heights, for each location.
Through this set of rasters, one for each intervention height, being the calculated 0, 10, 20, 30, 60 and 120 m, it is possible to immediately know the answers to questions such asWhere should I place a tower of 20 meters to have the greatest amount of visible territory or from how much area of territory will be seen an object of height h as we situate it
