Workplace accessibility on foot 2014
Description
Workplace accessibility in the Turku city region by walking along the pedestrian and bicycle network and the road and street network. Accessibility is calculated as an exponential distance function of the average distance travelled, weighted by the number of jobs. The analysis was carried out using the OpenStreetMap road network and the grid data from the Urban Structure Monitoring System (YKR) in 2011. Speeds have been defined for the road network by type of route, and the number of jobs has been searched from the grid data.
