Environmental economic analysis using the MIO-ES model.
Description
The MIO-ES model of the Federal Environment Agency is a macroeconomic input-output model with an integrated energy system. It is used for the evaluation of energy and climate-relevant measures. The current version provides annual results based on the base year 2014 with a horizon up to 2050. The Federal Environment Agency is using the MIO-ES model together with sector models to create long-term scenarios of Austrian greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, it is used for the evaluation of short- and medium-term effects of climate and energy policy measures and bundles of measures on the economy, energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This report documents the structure, database and results of the model.
