Software Service Providers
Description
Integrated circuit cards, card applications and software manufacturers are defined by the International Standard ISO 7816, Identificanion cards — Integrated circuit(s) cards with contacts. The standard was issued in 15 parts.
Part 5, ISO/IEC 7816-5:2004, Registration of application providers, defines the process of registration of application manufacturers (programming service providers) for smart cards. Each software provider, i.e. the software manufacturer for “smart” cards, registers in one place worldwide, with Danish Standards, Charlottenlund, Denmark, which is responsible for the application and maintenance of the said international standard (Registration Authority).
Software service providers are assigned a unique application identifier (RID).
The Croatian Standards Institute as a national standardisation body, and at the request of potential programme service providers from the Republic of Croatia, mediates their registration at international level. The data shall be kept in the Register of Program SERVICES DATA.
