Moor floors with special functional characteristics from a soil protection view in the state of Brandenburg
Description
Moor floors are all-rounders. They store water and CO2, are livelihoods of special plants and animals and recreation space for people. Moor soils have been mined, drained and cultivated for centuries. The remaining areas require special protection.
In the LfU technical report “Moor floors with special functional characteristics from the point of view of soil protection” (LfU, 2020), the peat soils are considered from the special point of view of soil protection. These are especially peat soils, which are particularly close to nature, contain archives of natural history and serve as a high carbon store.
In order to differentiate from various other moor data, the GIS data available here received the addition ‘Functional characteristics from the point of view of soil protection’.
It should be noted that this is only a subset of the referenced bog floor map.
For reasons of completeness, the bog areas not evaluated but equally significant in the shapes moor_bfap_nbmfb.shp and moor_bfap_nbmb.shp were also depicted.
The available shapes represent the results of this report, both in terms of area and point.
