Geothermal signalling map
Description
Based on rough assumptions, the signalling map shows the potential of deep geothermal energy. Deep geothermal energy (also called geothermal energy) is a technique to extract warm water (60-100?) from the earth by drilling 1000-4000 meters deep. A geothermal system consists of a ‘doublet’; a deep well from which hot water is drawn and a deep well into which the cooled water is returned. Above ground, the installation takes up about half a hectare. Underground, the hot and cold wells are far apart, the total area required amounts to 1.5 by 3 kilometers. This requires careful planning of the systems to make the most of their potential.
