Estonian Habitat Dataset (EELIS)
Description
According to the Forest Act, a key habitat is an area where there is a high probability of the occurrence of narrowly adapted, endangered, vulnerable or rare species. The protection of a key habitat in a forest in the ownership of a legal person in public law shall be organised by the owner of the land or an authorised representative thereof and in the state forest by the manager of the state forest pursuant to the procedure established by a regulation of the minister responsible for the area. The dataset of key habitats in the Estonian Environmental Register provides an overview of key habitats in Estonia.
The data is managed in the Estonian Nature Information System (EELIS).
