Peat meadow areas - Soil map
Description
Differences in soil properties within peat meadow areas affecting suitability for dairy farming: On the land availability maps for grazing, large areas are indicated as land with few possibilities for grazing. These are pastures with disabilities: they still have a moderate (sometimes even high gross production) but due to large grazing losses and very limited mobility, these lands must be treated with the right (farmer's) policy. However, what is a handicap for regular pasture farming (poor carrying capacity) is beneficial for organic pasture farming (higher nutritional status and higher organic matter content).
